WHERE NATURE AND RELAXATION MEET

Ca’ Bevilacqua

About us

Loretta & Vidmer Bevilacqua

Loretta & Vidmer.
An incredibly voracious and enthusiastic couple as only true “Romagnoli” can be. Welcoming and friendly, they love authentic and bohemian environments which offer beautiful and seductive charm. The qualities which will make you feel at home.

Loretta, a dreamy perfectionist and escapist.
A whirlwind of creativity and energy. While globe-trotting and visiting antique markets, she´s discovered a host of tiny treasures, each one with its own unique story and today these pieces   make Ca’ Bevilacqua a very special place. With an old linen canvas, she produced a quaint lampshade. With a metre of mesh fabric, transformed a table setting into a dream.

Vidmer, a traveller by instinct.
With roots firmly planted in tradition, but at the same time creative and easy-going and occasionally even a bit bonkers. Like the time in 2013 when in the Garden Room he decided to plant an Oriental Climbing Vine, not in a vase but in the ground and today that vine has totally taken over a complete wall and part of the ceiling. His love for Africa dates from the 1970´s when he travelled from Tunisia to the Ivory Coast, covering part of the trans-Sahara desert route in a mini bus and using local transport where and when possible. Today he looks after the wildlife in Cà Bevilacqua´s nature reserve and with all of the animals, he’s established an extremely special relationship.

WHERE WE ARE

Local towns and Villages

Located in Bertinoro, Ca’ Bevilacqua is the perfect base for exploring the delights of Romagna.
Being close to Ravenna, Rimini, the Montefeltro Valley and San Marino means that opportunities for discovering art & culture abound. The beaches of Milano Marittima and Lido di Classe are near at hand and so is the Mirabilandia theme park and the thermal spa at Fratta Terme. The rolling hills of Bertinoro offer to cycling guests the ideal route to indulge in a biking break that takes in wine & food tasting.

Bertinoro

The name of this delightful town comes from a local legend concerning Galla Placidia, daughter of the Emperor Teodosio who once stayed in Bertinoro. The town offers the visitor ample opportunites for enjoying excellent food and wine and is known locally as the “balcony of Romagna”.

Cervia

Surrounded by pine forests and salt flats, with a 9 kilometre long beach and more than 185 beach facilities, Cervia is an oasis for fauna and wildlife and offers the visitor so many things to do. The salt flats should not be missed and local salt-based products can be purchased.

Forlimpopoli

Birthplace of the father of Italian gastronomy, Pellegrino Artusi, author of several cooking books, he is remembered annually by the Artusiana Festival. Forlimpopoli is just a short drive from Ca’ Bevilacqua.

Cesena

Cesena is an interesting city to visit in any season and is a place that offers much to the art-lover. Not to be missed is the magnificent Malatestiana Library, the world’s oldest on public view since the 15th century and the Piazza del Popolo dominated by the Malatestiana Castle.

Ravenna

Home of art and culture, Ravenna is the town of mosaics. The town boasts 8 sites which are UNESCO protected. The town is also home of the remains of the famous poet Dante Alighieri. Just outside the town on the Highway 16, the largest theme park in Italy is to be found: Mirabilandia.

Milano Marittima

Renowned and elegant seaside town, with numerous restaurants, top-class shops and boutiques, discos and trendy bars, Milano Marittima is the ideal place for those seeking fun and entertainment. Situated a few kilometres from Cervia, the town also hosts a long list of national sporting events each year.

Forlì

Considered as one of the best towns in Italy for quality of life, Forlì has maintained many historical monuments and buildings. Highly recommended is a visit to the “Complesso Museale del San Domenico”, situated in the town centre.

Cesenatico

The world’s first “designer port” created by Leonardo Da Vinci. This delightful seaside town offers the visitor ample opportunities for enjoying good seafood in any of the numerous restaurants that run by the main canal where fishing boats deliver their fresh catch every day directly to the restaurants.
